First Friday Art Walk is an exciting opportunity to engage in Baker City’s vibrant art scene. There are at least six galleries and/or businesses participating each month depending on the time of year. Come and enjoy local and regional artists’ work on a walk through town, catch a drink at our fine distillery and microbrews, and eat at a variety of restaurants. It is a great way to shop, appreciate the arts, and the community of Baker City. The arts are an extraordinary part of Baker City. Come and see for yourself!
Opening of “Journeys and Convergence” Linda Peterson, Jan Clark and Denise Eliabeth Stone

August 7th, 2026, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Artists talk 5:30)
This exhibition of mixed media work by three wonderful artists is an exquisite cohesive grouping chronicling decades of the individual artistic journeys and creative convergence of close friends and artistic comrades. Each artist’s work is distinctive yet is influenced and enhanced by their collaborative endeavors. Themes of nature, color, exploration, and storytelling unify the collection, bringing the individual strands of shill, vision, and technique into a cohesive statement of artistic expression.
Jan, Linda, and Denise, along with the late Sue Orlaske, initially gathered in 2008 to learn the batik watercolor method. Together they developed techniques to extend the range of possibilities for the method and exhibited their work together as the Batik Convergence. The three artists, now called Convergence, have continued to explore a range of creative expressions, from batiks to collage to 3D creations. Perfect for the autumn season, this is a show not to miss!
