History on Display

Visit Website

About

This Historic Main Street, and surrounding side streets, features more than 100 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

A simple stroll down Main Street is like a step back in time – except for the fact that most of these buildings house modern eateries, retail boutiques and more just waiting to be explored!

ACTIVITIES

Downtown sculptures

You’ll find sculptures installed along Main Street, including a unique piece of public art in Court Plaza. This is thanks to the efforts of Whit Deschner, founder of the Great Salt Lick art contest and auction that raises money for Parkinson’s disease research.

Along Main Street you’ll also find sculptures of African animals, courtesy of Art Roamers. How many can you spot?

Dining

You’ll find a plethora of dining options from quick bites to elevated fare up and down and just off Main Street. Stroll around and try what catches your eye, and make sure to plan what you’ll try for the next meal!

Shopping

Historic Downtown is your destination for all sorts of shopping, from local boutiques to art galleries, essential outdoor gear and fun finds.

Getting There

In the heart of Baker City, you can’t miss downtown! If you’re arriving via I-84, take exit 304 and head west on Campbell Street. Continue for one mile and turn left (south) on Main Street. Once you get to the intersection with Broadway, you’ve arrived at the heart of downtown. Find on-street parking along or just off Main Street and explore by foot.
