Sure, the kids are back in school and the days are getting shorter, but we’re still rocking and rolling in Baker. Every weekend has something great going on – check it out below!
September 4-7: Labor Day Fun
It’s Labor Day Weekend, which means the Sumpter Flea Market is back in town Saturday through Monday. The Baker County Fair and Rodeo in Halfway will also be on all weekend. Or get the ATVs ready to Ride the Elkhorns to Marble Pass. If you stick around through Tuesday, catch the Baker Heritage Museum Speaker Series all about beer and brewery history in Baker.
September 11-13: Pine Fest and Theater
Pine Fest is back in Halfway – head over for the big sounds on two stages Saturday and Sunday. For the bikers, head to Barley Brown’s for Metric Moto Nights – show off your bike! Eastern Oregon Theatre kicks of a new production of An Evening with Percival Wilde. On Sunday, Eastern Oregon Theatre and Churchill School present The Rocky Horror Picture Show – complete with participation kits for those who want to get into it.
September 17-20: Day of Dance
Earlier in the week you can catch Third Thursday Downtown Sip, Stroll, and Shop and then catch a special film screening of The Pain and the Power at Churchill School. On Saturday, Day of Dance 4 takes over the stage at Geiser-Pollman Park. Check out traditional dances from around the world, including Mexico, Colombia, India, Ireland, China, and more. Saturday night head to Churchill to hear Terry Robb live at Churchill School‘s virtuosos blues guitar.
September 24-26: Culture Keeper and the Great Salt Lick Auction
Thursday-Saturday head to the National Oregon Trail Interpretive Center for Oregon Culture Keeper Clair Kerhberg who will show off her saddle making and leatherworking craft. Then on Saturday, reserve your spot for Fall High Tea at the Geiser Grand before heading to the 18th Annual Great Salt Lick Auction where, yes, you can win your very own salt lick artwork and help out Parkinson’s research.
