July 3-5: Independence Day Celebrations

If you haven’t made plans for the 4th yet, Baker is your place! Check out July’s First Friday Art Walk from 5-8pm, starting at Crossroads Carnegie Arts Center and continuing to Downtown businesses. The Haines Stampede Rodeo is the highlight of July 4th festivities in Haines, which also include a fun run and parade. Over in Sumpter, the Renaissance Faire is your ticket to go back in time (and embrace the fantasy). And in Halfway, a host of events include stargazing, bike rodeo, parade, pie auction, and the Halfway to Hells Canyon Gravel Festival.

July 9-12: Weaving, Motorcycles, Junior Rodeo

The Oregon Culture Keeper Residency continues at the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center with Richland spinner and weaver Cheryl Newhouse. The Baker City Motorcycle Rally is back for a weekend of fun rides through the mountains and valleys. And the Haines Junior Stampede puts the kids through the ropes (or rather, they’ll be doing the roping).

July 16-19: Miner’s Jubilee + Broncs and Bulls

Come early for Third Thursday’s Downtown Sip, Stroll, Shop, Support, and then stay over the weekend for the Miner’s Jubilee in Geiser-Pollman Park. On Saturday, Baker Bronc and Bullriding will light up the fairgrounds.

July 24-26: Huckleberries and Football

Check out the North Powder Huckleberry Festival, then head to Sumpter for Hot Sumpter Nights which features BBQ, music, and classic cars. Don’t miss the Oregon East-West Shriner All-Star Football Game happening at Baker Bulldog Stadium, with other festivities happening Saturday, leading up to the big game.

Music all month:

Churchill School has several great acts coming through, from Rhys Langston to Willie Waldman. The Powder River Music Revue is bringing a variety of genres to the park every Sunday.
