About
Located below the fire lookout, the Summit Point Trailhead is a moderate sized rustic trailhead for the southern end of the Eagle Cap Wilderness. Access into the wilderness area is along the Cliff Creek Trail #1885 and is popular with summer hikers and backpackers as well as fall hunters. The site has parking for large trucks and trailers and hitching rails for stock.

Getting There
From Halfway, Oregon head north on the Cornucopia Highway (Main Street) for about 5.7 miles to Carson Lane; Turn left on Carson Lane (Road becomes Forest Road 7710 at Carson Grade); Follow Forest Road 7710 for 3.5 miles to Forest Road 77; Turn right on Forest Road 77 and go 1 mile to McBride Campground; At McBride Campground turn right on Forest Road 7715; On Forest Road 7715 go 4.5 miles to trailhead entrance on right side of road.
