First Friday Art Walk is an exciting opportunity to engage in Baker City’s vibrant art scene. There are at least six galleries and/or businesses participating each month depending on the time of year. Come and enjoy local and regional artists’ work on a walk through town, catch a drink at our fine distillery and microbrews, and eat at a variety of restaurants. It is a great way to shop, appreciate the arts, and the community of Baker City. The arts are an extraordinary part of Baker City. Come and see for yourself!
Opening of “Lines, Dots, and Feathers by Debra Otterstein.”

August 7th, 2026, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm (Artists talk 5:30)
This solo show by artist from Cove, Oregon, Debra Otterstein, is one not to miss. A nationally recognized scratchboard artist, she is also well known for her feather painting of wildlife. She studies the majesty of the natural world by immersing herself in national parks across the country. Debra’s skill has won her many awards for her exquisite scratchboard work for its fine detail and precision defining animals and birds in black and white artwork that is sure to impress.
Debra states, “Wildlife, with its endless variety and vitality, remains my primary source of inspiration. The ever-changing tapestry of nature ensures a constant stream of new elements to explore and interpret, fueling my creativity and passion for my work. Through my art, I aim to share these special moments, inviting others to see the world through my eyes and discover beauty in the often-overlooked details.”
The Little Big Show will also be in full swing, and we are proud to be part of this community-wide fundraiser that brings so much excitement to Baker every August. We will be donating the proceeds to ArtSpeak, our scholarship fund giving our motto “Art for Everyone” to shine.
